  • How you will contribute

    Valmont is currently seeking a highly motivated and talented individual for the Inside Sales Coordinator position in the Petersburg, VA Coatings site.  We are looking for a highly driven individual that will work directly with our Outside Sales Rep and all customers. Additionally, you will…

    • Gather all necessary information from all customers (request for quotation) for the project and coordinate the incoming work
    • Complete information on turnaround time, customer commitments etc.
    • Follow up on all outstanding quotations noting the date of follow up and results of quotation
    • Resolve minor customer opportunities by interacting with the production and accounting departments
    • Calls customers when orders are ready for pick up
    • Answer phone calls, greet visitors and direct appropriately
    • Work daily with production to meet customer commitment requests
    • Reviews customer order with current contract and standing customer requirements
    • Communicates with customer, production and/or sales for resolution of any material nonconformance’s
    • Documents all customer conversation on appropriate forms
    • Ensures proper flow of paperwork to QA for Certifications and verifies pricing prior to invoicing
    • Generates and prints various documents and reports as per on the job training
    • Cross-trains to cover other administrative functions
    • Notifies customers when material is complete and ready for pickup - conveys COD totals when necessary
    • Coordinates 3rd party freight with S/R
    • Uses various research tools to locate new customer and projects
    • Arranges special packaging or shipping requirements as requested by customers
    • Maintain quote log
    • Maintain project tracking log all other related functions as determined by management

      What it takes

      Required Qualifications

    • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
    • Excellent communication skills
    • The ability to recognize and solve practical problems or issues
    • A strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Outlook, plus the ability to quickly learn other software data entry
    • The ability to learn and adapt quickly to new computer programs
    • Must have a pleasant and friendly “can do” attitude
    • Ability to recognize and analyze problems and bring to management’s attention
    • Must be a person of passion and integrity who has the drive to excel and deliver exceptional results

      Highly qualified candidates will also possess:

    • Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Business Marketing or related field
    • Minimum two to three years’ experience in Customer Service in a service provider Company
    • 3 plus months experience in a manufacturing, processing or construction environment
    • Bilingual preferred English/Spanish
