How you will contribute


Valmont is currently seeking a highly motivated and talented individual for the Project Administrator position in the Global Engineered Support Structures (ESS) Division, Plymouth Indiana location.  We are looking for a highly driven individual that will support the customer service and engineering departments, coordinate between Valmont and our representatives as well as customers in requests for quotations, accepting and processing orders, computing accurate prices, negotiating price and delivery of orders, and handling all quote and order related issues for our customers.  Additionally, you will. . .


  • Manage project timelines and organize project specific details
  • Communicate effectively with external customers and internal departments on the specifics for all assigned quotations including initial review and summarization through follow-up activities
  • Work closely with Engineering to understand, troubleshoot and resolve all support related issues
  • Identify potential order issues to proactively resolve all possible conflict for Customers
  • Ensure management recommended margin levels are met on all quotations
  • Effectively and efficiently communicate with all who receive prices and/or place orders
  • Establish and maintain a reliable working relationship between the regional team, factory and Valmont representatives, as well as our Customers
  • Evaluate and adjust prices, quotes and orders when changes are made or negotiations take place
  • Process quotes and orders on a timely basis
  • Monitor project process flow throughout various departments
  • Perform a variety of multiple tasks concurrently, including scanning, filing and answering phone calls, as well as additional tasks, as needed
  • Maintain a complete understanding of the quote and order entry systems

    What it takes


    Required Qualifications

  • Two years of previous experience in a sales, telemarketing, or customer service position
  • Previous experience managing project timelines to meet customer deadlines
  • Advanced coursework or training beyond high school education; preferably with an emphasis in Marketing or Business Administration
  • Demonstrated strengths in interpersonal skills, including the ability to adapt and professionally communicate with a variety of people via phone and e-mail
  • The ability to solve complex problems with high attention to detail and work in a fast-paced environment subject to specific deadlines
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Products, especially: Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Must be willing and able to remain seated for long periods of time performing detailed clerical functions including answering the phone
  • Self-starter with excellent organizational skills with an ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently, including scanning, filing, and answering the phone
  • Must have an acceptable attendance and prior employment record
  • Must be a person of passion and integrity who has the drive to excel and deliver exceptional results

    Highly qualified candidates will also possess:

  • Five or more years of previous experience in a sales, telemarketing, or customer service position
  • One year of previous experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment
  • The ability to understand and analyze engineering details, project plans, and specifications including reading and interpreting blue prints and shop drawings
  • The ability to communicate and interact with coworkers in a positive manner and be an integral part of a team environment
