How you will contribute

Valmont is currently seeking a highly motivated and talented individual for the Quality Assurance Lead position in the Global Coatings Division. We are looking for a highly driven individual that will have an aptitude for using measuring devices, attention to detail and the ability to communicate inspection results.   • Inspects galvanized product to insure conformance to company and customer standards.  Tests coating thickness of product with properly calibrated thickness gauge and records on form.
  • Inspects galvanized or coated products using fixed and variable measuring instruments
  • Inspects for irregularities in coatings; non-coated areas, icicles, drips, zinc build up, ash or other foreign matter on the freshly galvanized or coated products.
  • Compares product count with productions schedule to insure finished product matches customer count.
  • Responsible for rejecting product that does not meet customer and company standards
  • Able to work independently
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Occasional travel offsite to customer
  • Maintains a clean and hazard-free workplace; protects self and others from accident and injury.
  • Exhibit excellent safety practices and behaviors and follows the intended purposes of Valmont safety policies and procedures

Required Qualifications

  • The ability to work in a high volume, fast paced environment
  • Must have a high awareness for safety at all times
  • The ability to pay attention to detail and follow work instructions 
  • The ability to identify and communicate product problems to departmental supervision
  • The ability to work in extreme temperatures and conditions
  • Must be a person of passion and integrity who has the drive to excel and deliver exceptional results

Highly qualified candidates will also possess:

  • Three years of previous experience in a manufacturing and fabrication environment
  • Three years of previous experience in a quality control or related position with NDT experience, CWI preferred
  • Three years of previous experience with operating hand and/or power tools
  • The ability to communicate and interact with coworkers and customers in a positive manner
  • The ability to recognize and solve practical problems or issues
