A Brief Summary of This Position:

Valmont is seeking an innovative and people-oriented AI Adoption & Automation Lead to bridge the gap between operational teams and the AI & Digital Transformation group. This role is designed for a proactive individual who is passionate about problem-solving, digital enablement, and crafting AI-driven solutions to eliminate repetitive or manual work.

The successful candidate will be responsible for deeply understanding the day-to-day challenges faced by various teams across the organization and co-developing practical, scalable solutions using AI technologies like ChatGPT, Copilot, and workflow automation tools such as Power Automate.

Essential Functions:

  • This role reports to the Director of AI Products & Automation.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Needs Assessment
    • Collaborate with internal teams across departments to map out routine tasks, bottlenecks, and inefficiencies.
    • Facilitate workshops or 1:1 sessions to gather insights into team-specific pain points.
  • Solution Design & Collaboration
    • Translate operational challenges into clear problem statements for the AI team.
    • Collaborate with AI engineers and automation experts to design, prototype, and implement tailored solutions.
  • AI & Automation Implementation
    • Assist in creating and fine-tuning AI agent workflows using tools like ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, Power Automate and other tools.
    • Develop and maintain prompt templates, chatbot flows, or automation sequences to streamline repetitive processes.
  • Training & Enablement
    • Support teams in onboarding and adoption of AI tools through training, documentation, and continuous guidance.
    • Promote a culture of innovation by educating teams about AI capabilities and emerging use cases.
  • Feedback & Iteration
    • Gather feedback on deployed tools to refine and improve the user experience and functionality.
    • Monitor usage metrics and qualitative feedback to inform future development cycles.

Required Qualifications of Every Candidate:

  • Preferred Bachelor’s with 5+ years relevant experience or associate’s degree with 7+ years relevant experience or 9+ years relevant experience.
  • Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally and drive change in complex organizational environments.
  • Strong problem-solving mindset and ability to break down abstract business problems.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Self-starter who thrives in ambiguity and is motivated to create real impact.
  • Experience with prompt engineering, chatbot flows is an advantage.
  • Technical curiosity or experience working with AI and automation tools (e.g., Power Automate, ChatGPT, Python, or scripting platforms) -  Advantage.

Highly Qualified Candidates Will Also Possess These Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with Microsoft ecosystem (Power Platform, Copilot, Teams integrations).
  • Basic understanding of APIs, no-code/low-code tools, or scripting logic.
  • Experience in digital transformation, consulting, or business process improvement initiatives.
