A Brief Summary of This Position: This
This individual contributor role serves as the primary coordinator between Valmont and our OEMs/representatives and customers. Responsibilities include managing requests for quotations, processing orders, calculating accurate prices, maintaining management-directed margins, negotiating prices and delivery terms, and handling all quote and order-related issues.

Essential Functions:

  • Reports to Project Administrator Supervisor; no direct or indirect reports

  • Process and monitor quotes/orders, expedite as needed

    Maintain expertise in quote and order entry systems and procedural updates

  • Ensure recommended margin levels on all quotations

  • Provide solutions and alternatives for customer issues

  • Establish reliable working relationships with regional teams, factories, and OEMs/representatives

  • Re-price quotes/orders during changes or negotiations

  • Resolve internal and external problems promptly

  • Verify orders against quotes/contracts, enter and schedule orders, communicate progress to OEMs/representatives and customers

  • Manage and communicate details for all assigned quotations, ensuring accuracy and timely follow-up

  • Maintain customer master files to improve quotation/order turnaround time

  • Implement company policies on warranty, quality, and shortage items

  • Determine cost-effective solutions for field complaints; coordinate with Field Service Specialists

  • Minimize exposure to field labor claims

Required Qualifications of Every Candidate:

  • Preferred Bachelors in a relevant field or Associates Degree with 3+ years of experience or 5+ years of relevant quality experience

  • Three years of experience in a customer service, sales, or telemarketing position

  • A working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook 

  • Available for 5% domestic travel

Highly Qualified Candidates Will Also Possess These Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Construction Management, or related field

  • Preferred knowledge in lighting, traffic, communications, or sign structure industries

  • Preferred experience in a manufacturing environment or customer service in manufacturing

  • Ability to analyze engineering details, project plans, and specifications

  • Knowledge of products, material requirements, and efficient methods
