A Brief Summary of This Position:

The Credit Collections Specialist in the Valmont Shared Services Accounting Department handles Accounts Receivable and Credit functions. Key responsibilities include identifying and resolving problems, communicating effectively with internal and external parties, and managing ERP/Accounting systems to track transactions. The specialist ensures accurate and timely payment processing, monitors customer payment statuses, and reviews customer accounts. Analyzing trade data, credit reports, and financial statements is crucial for making credit limit recommendations. The role involves applying payments, transferring funds, and maintaining balanced accounts.

Essential Functions:

  • Reports to the Manager of Credit, no direct reports

  • No travel requirements

  • Processes credit applications and invoices

  • Maintains customer data accuracy

  • Responds to customer concerns and credit inquiries

  • Addresses past due accounts and resolves discrepancies

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's, Associate's degree, or High School diploma with 2+ years of experience

  • Knowledge of Credit Department practices and Microsoft Office

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in credit and/or collections

  • Knowledge of accounting software (IFS, SAP, QAD)
