A Brief Summary of This Position:

The Digital Graphic Designer position is responsible for the development and implementation of marketing communications for Valmont inclusive of its business segments in all aspects of the digital experience. This position works closely with cross-functional teams including brand strategy, project management, research, web services and outside partners so it is critical that this individual display strong collaboration skills within a team environment. The Digital Graphic Designer will have responsibility for the look and feel of a wide variety of exciting marketing/communication initiatives; allowing this individual to make a meaningful contribution to the organization while providing room for personal development as a digital design professional. The work performed in this position will help in concepting, implementing, and monitoring marketing, branding, and advertising digital activities in order to improve the brand’s image and increase stakeholder engagement. This position will support new product launches, digital marketing campaigns and content, web experience/design, social media channels, photography, video production and trade show experience design.

Essential Functions:

  • This position reports into the Marketing Manager, Creative and has no direct or indirect reports
  • This role requires up to 10% domestic travel including overnight stays
  • Concepts and develops material for digital communications
  • Works with social strategy team to develop and design social marketing campaigns that increases brand’s image as an innovation leader
  • Aids in concepting and developing innovative materials for trade shows and digital graphic displays/experiences
  • Work directly with the web services team to develop and design website content
  • Manages digital network for the company, creating and broadcasting digital content on approved platforms
  • Partners with brand marketing team, creative leadership, designers and copywriters to create and execute cohesive campaigns
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations
  • Assists with managing photography/video digital asset  library

Required Qualifications of Every Candidate (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):

  • Preferred Bachelors or Associates Degree with 3+ years of relevant experience or 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience in marketing, advertising, digital marketing, project management or production management
  • Computer skills – Strong knowledge of internet and digital experiences, as well as strong knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite
  • Ability to effectively communicate and present design work
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be a self-starter and able to independently move projects forward, prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Must be a collaborator and work well in a team-oriented environment
  • Ability to follow and execute to brand standards and maintain brand look and feel, while still bringing new life to the brand
  • Has a proven understanding of video editing and ability to create animation for web
  • Has working knowledge of various digital platforms and channels, with a firm understanding of asset specifications and best practices for showcasing brand’s digital communications
  • Has proven knowledge of the digital experience and ability to use technology to present the brand as an innovation leader

Highly Qualified Candidates Will Also Possess These Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, marketing, communications or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in graphic design, with at least 5 years focused on digital design for web and social
  • Will provide a digital portfolio of their work that reflects ability and talent
  • Experience presenting to all levels of leadership
