A Brief Summary of This Position:

The Manufacturing Coordinator serves as the liaison to verify and keep record of incoming and outgoing shipments, parts, and inventory.  The incumbent will also be responsible to preparing, analyzing and distribution of reports to various levels of staff with in Valmont.  Incumbent will also process and work thru any shortages or damages occurred, while establishing and maintaining professional relationships within the Production floor associates.   Planning, scheduling, and monitoring of work flow operations and inventory will also be performed.  The incumbent will also build and maintain relationships with both internal and external customers to provide the best possible customer service from Valmont. 

Essential Functions:

  • Process and maintain all receiving information using inventory systems (QADEE)
  • Compile and distribute picking lists for production orders, work orders and shortages
  • Communicate with internal and external customers concerning order and inventory status
  • Maintain data for order flow and inventory accuracy
  • Analyze and resolve discrepancies in receiving, inventory and costing
  • Assure all items issued or transferred meet Valmont and department guidelines
  • Produce and review daily labor-lapse reports to insure correct labor reporting
  • Participate in safety functions within the department and company
  • This position reports into Operations Manager and does not have any direct or indirect reports
  • This role requires up to 5% domestically, including overnight stays
  • Position will be 100% on site

Other Important Details about the Role:

  • Identify and assist with employee training needs
  • Participate in Lean projects including but not limited to 5S, Kiazan and audit projects

Required Qualifications of Every Candidate:

  • High school diploma and 1+ years of experience
  • Proven attention to detail and accuracy while working in a fast paced environment with multiple deadlines and distractions
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of staff within the organization
  • Strong knowledge of basic mathematics
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work overtime as required by department needs

Highly Qualified Candidates Will Also Possess These Qualifications:

  • Strong problem solving, planning, and organizational skills
  • Previous office experience within a production environment
  • Proficient in IFS manufacturing software and QADEE

Working Environment and Physical Efforts:

Work is typically performed in an office setting, however, the incumbent will be required to walk out into the production or shipping/receiving areas several times during their shift.  The incumbent is regularly required to sit for extended periods of time, as well as talk and listen on the phone and in personal conversations or meetings.    Environment is fast paced and demanding most of the time.  No travel requirements for this position.  The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms while working in the office with various files and forms and while working on the computer.  Incumbent must utilize proper ergonomic safeguards such as monitor height and positions, keyboard location and height and proper wrists rests as well as wear all proper PPE.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds in working with large files, binders, and computer equipment.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
