Valmont is seeking a driven and experienced Operations Manager to lead and optimize operations at our Colorado Springs, CO, facility. This role oversees all aspects of operational performance, including transportation, inventory, labor management, production scheduling, quality control, equipment maintenance, shipping, and vendor coordination. The Operations Manager will serve as the primary liaison between the company, customers, and contractors, ensuring all orders are completed on time, on budget, and to the highest quality standards.


The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, lean manufacturing experience, and the ability to drive continuous improvement in a fast-paced production environment.


Essential Functions:
• Reports directly to the Senior Director of Operations.
• Lead and supervise production teams to meet customer demand, safety standards, and service excellence.
• Coordinate production control and manufacturing activities to meet division goals.
• Monitor project progress, analyze performance metrics, and report results daily, weekly, and monthly.
• Implement and enforce Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies, using systems such as Intelex.
• Develop and maintain standard procedures that ensure Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC).
• Allocate labor and capital resources effectively to achieve site performance goals.
• Manage all critical operational resources: labor, inventory, shop supplies, tools, shipping, transportation, and facility operations.
• Ensure 100% accuracy in order fulfillment and shipment.


Required Qualifications of Every Candidate (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):
• Bachelor’s degree with 6+ years of relevant experience, or Associate’s degree with 8+ years, or 10+ years of directly related experience.
• Prior supervisory or management experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Proven ability to lead teams in a high-volume, deadline-driven setting.
• Hands-on experience with Lean Manufacturing and process improvement.
• Strong scheduling, multi-tasking, and project prioritization skills.
• Exceptional communication and customer relationship management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Ability to interpret technical documents, including blueprints, design specs, and safety manuals.
• Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability to evolving customer needs.
Highly Qualified Candidates Will Also Possess These Qualifications:
• Background in telecommunications, construction management, or infrastructure.
• Certifications in Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.
• Familiarity with tools such as Salesforce CRM, Intelex, Workday, and Workforce.
• Experience in wireless infrastructure design, welding, or fabrication supervision.
• Passionate and integrity-driven with a proven track record of delivering results.


Working Environment and Physical Efforts:
This role involves both office work and frequent time on the production floor and outdoor environments across all seasons. Proper PPE is mandatory. The position may be exposed to noise, dust, fumes, welding arcs, and chemicals. Some domestic travel (up to 5%) may be required.
Physical requirements include:
• Regular reaching with hands/arms
• Occasional walking, sitting, climbing, kneeling, and crawling
• Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
• Visual acuity for close/distance vision and focus adjustment


Pay: $86k - $136k depending on experience.
