A Brief Summary of This Position:
The Senior Unified Communications (UC) Engineer serves as a key member of the UC Engineering Team. The role requires technical expertise and the ability to effectively collaborate with internal technology teams. The incumbent is responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and troubleshooting integrated communications systems and must have a proven track record of successfully managing large-scale systems with journeyman level troubleshooting skills, problem solving techniques, attention to detail, analysis, communication, and leadership skills. This position requires a wide range of technical knowledge and the ability to work under pressure while providing exceptional customer service and professionalism. Required technologies include telephony systems and protocols, SBCs, SIP Trunks, UC appliances, paging systems, gate control systems, network infrastructure, protocols and best practices, security best practices, servers, operating systems, packet captures, artificial intelligence, and experience with mainstream cloud-based UC platforms like Zoom and Microsoft Teams.

This position is a master craftsman role providing a high level of support for global UC infrastructure operations. This role designs, leads and drives technology solutions in the UC space. The Senior Unified Communications Engineer is responsible for the design, administration and management of global UC systems and provides leadership and consultancy for global systems concerns, planning and implementing high availability, and reporting to management the operational status of the systems environment.

Working Environment and Physical Efforts:
Work is typically performed in an office setting. The incumbent is regularly required to sit for extended periods of time, as well as talk and listen on the phone and in personal conversations or meetings. Environment is fast paced and demanding most of the time. Up to 5% (domestically/internationally) including overnight stays, travel requirements for this position. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms while working in the office with various files and forms and while working on the computer. The employee is occasionally required to move about the office. Incumbent must utilize proper ergonomic safeguards such as monitor height and positions, keyboard location and height and proper wrists rests. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds in working with large files, binders, and computer equipment. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
