Base Hours: Second Shift 2:30pm to 11:00pm M-F

Starting Pay: $58,000/year

How you will contribute

Valmont is currently seeking a highly motivated and talented individual for the Shift Supervisor position in the Global Coating Division. We are looking for a highly driven individual that will supervise, train, motivate, and mentor approximately 20-40 production employees within the Galvanizing facility. • Implement and assign work schedule to maximize utilization of manpower, machines, and equipment
• Defines expected production standards and monitors performance standards of assigned personnel
• Observe assigned personnel to ensure the proper operation of assigned equipment
• Ensure inspection checks and quality assurance are occurring to produce high quality products
• Promote a continuous productivity improvement climate that encourages suggestions for operational improvement
• Administer and support company policies and procedures in a fair and consistent manner
• Train new employees about divisional and organizational activities and safety policies and procedures

What it takes

Required Qualifications

• Two years of experience in supervisory or management position with a proven record of strong leadership capabilities (excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills)
• The ability to recognize hazardous substance and to know basic employee responsibilities for chemical safety
• The ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals
• The ability to recognize and solve practical problems or issues
• The ability to communicate and interact with coworkers in a positive manner
• Must be a person of passion and integrity who has the drive to excel and deliver exceptional results

Highly qualified candidates will also possess:

• Associate’s Degree from tech school or two years of college
• Five years of experience in a supervisory or management position
• Strong leadership skills and the ability to support divisional business objectives
• The ability to calculate figures such as pay changes for employees, proportions and percentages, and product dimensions
• A strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Outlook
