The main goal of this position is the analysis, design, development and implementation of application programs and the modification of existing application programs. This individual will analyze project requirements, develop effort estimates, task dependencies and provide technical support.  The IT Senior Programmer Analyst will support major cross functional projects with complex and challenging business problems that can have a broad organizational impact and provide opportunities for significant competitive advantage.  This position may solve highly technical complex problems and be called on to consult for other projects.  Direction is provided by the Manager IT Business Applications and normally consists of relative priority and timing requirements of the assignment, business process requirements and tradeoffs, assigned resources, security and/or performance requirements, interface and technical requirements.  The incumbent is encouraged to leverage all technical resources to maximize production output and quality, and to develop and implement the solution within the parameters provided and subject to supervisory direction and user acceptance testing and approval.  Supervisor is kept informed of progress towards the goal, issues, problems, conflicts and opportunities to help guide the project toward completion.  This position will collaborate across the Global IT organization as needed.

The system user or customer is fully involved at each stage of implementation to help ensure the accuracy of the solution.  The IT Senior Programmer Analyst leads activities by coordinating development, systems integration and end user testing including planning, building, scheduling, facilitating execution, issues resolution, controlling scope, and adjusting to unforeseen issues.  The incumbent works with the project team to document, prioritize, and resolve issues to ensure testing deliverables are completed on time.  Development and implementation of applications requires a broad understanding of application architecture and integration with business systems. Solutions must consider feasibility and overall performance impacts.  An implementation plan is developed and maintained through the lifecycle of the project.  The incumbent should have a sound understanding of the economics of testing to promote quality at a reasonable cost.  The IT Senior Programmer Analyst must perform feasibility and economic analysis to evaluate system alternatives for cost and bottom-line impact.  Efficiency of the entire business process must be considered throughout the development cycle.

The IT Senior Programmer Analyst will be assigned scope in multiple of the following application scope areas: ERP, CRM, HR/FIN, IT, PLM, Production Support, RPA, TMS.  Others may be added as a need arises.

Essential Functions:

  • This position reports to the Manager IT Business Applications and has no direct or indirect reports.
  • This role requires up to 5% travel (internationally/domestically), including overnight stays.
  • Flexible schedule however must be able to work in the office two days per week.
  • Apply Agile, Waterfall or other similar Application lifecycle methodology to develop the solutions.
  • Perform systems analysis and design, document, develop, implement, and maintain complex application development work with little or no supervision.
  • Ensure systems and applications created adhere to departmental standards, appropriate controls and audit trails exist, and that new systems and programs are thoroughly tested prior to installation in production environment.
  • Identify and document current and future business processes.
  • Identify and document gaps between current and future business processes.
  • Analyze and translate user requirements into technical design and development projects.
  • Develop technical architecture and code for applications including database, scripting and user interface design.
  • Develop technical and functional architecture for Interfaces including field mapping and data transformation.
  • Assist Business Analysts and other Programmers in identifying fields to execute data conversion.
  • Lead project team and end users in execution of data validation and quality.
  • Document identified issues as they surface.
  • Collaborate with project team to resolve identified issues.
  • Monitor and assist project team and end users in the execution of user acceptance testing.
  • Provide on-going application technical support and participate in application training.
  • Provide documentation, technical specifications and infrastructure requirements for each development Project.
  • Continuously monitor industry trends, standards and technologies.  Research, recommend and apply new technologies as they emerge.
  • Perform feasibility analysis considering technical, infrastructural, organizational and economic aspects to alternative solutions.
  • Perform project management activities including task identification, effort and duration estimates, task dependencies and sequencing, critical path analysis, resource assignment and evaluation, conflict and problem resolution.

Other Important Details about the Role:

The IT Senior Programmer Analyst is responsible for the analysis, design, development and implementation of application programs and the modification of existing application programs.  This position has system-wide responsibility on complex projects and components and may solve highly technical complex problems and be called on to consult for other projects. The incumbent should demonstrate a logical approach to project analysis and estimation including work breakdown structure, scope control, critical path method, and project metrics.

Required Qualifications of Every Candidate (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):

  • Preferred Bachelor’s with 5+ years relevant experience or Associate’s degree with 7+ years relevant experience or 9+ years of relevant experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in .Net (.Net Core) web application development.
  • 5+ years of experience with developing angular based applications.
  • C#.net, Asp.Net Web Forms, VB.Net, ADO.Net, Entity Framework, HTML5, JavaScript, JQuery, CSS, XML, AJAX programming, PLSQL, SQL, ASP.Net MVC, Web Services, API Programming, Windows Forms, Azure and Client programming experience.
  • Experience with Azure Functions, App Services, Logic App, Storage, Azure gateway, Azure AD/Entra and azure resources maintenance.
  • Oracle (PL/SQL) and exposure to cloud SQL databases (Azure preferred).
  • Experience developing API based applications or Microservices.
  • Experience deploying applications to cloud environments or IIS based servers.
  • Experience working with Azure Devops and Git.
  • Knowledge of .Net Web and Windows application architectures, Software design principles, Object Oriented Programming, Object Oriented Design, Prototype designing and UI designing.
  • Unit Testing, Integration Testing, Regression Testing and Test Case Writing, Documentation, Application Trouble shooting and requirements analysis, estimation, and technical support.
  • Development Methodologies Experience: Agile and Sprint development, Team oriented, Active team participation and result oriented.
  • Working knowledge of supporting ERP (IFS, QAD etc.) and/or business systems.
  • Service desk or any similar request management system.
  • Proficient with English language (verbal and written).
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Highly Qualified Candidates Will Also Possess These Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in IT, MIS or related field from accredited university.
  • Experience using .Net 4 and above.
  • Web-oriented user interface architecture and design experience.  
  • High level of initiative and self-motivation.
  • Experience with XML, Ajax, jQuery and other latest Web Technology.
  • Knowledge of IFS, TMS, Blackline, One Stream or other financial ERP systems.
  • MAUI, React, Boomi and SAP CPI/BTP Integration/EDI programming experience.
  • Experience with RPA (MS Power Automate) and Power Apps.
  • Understanding of IOT and GPS Trackers platforms and device interface programming.
  • SharePoint portal designing and maintenance.
  • Experience with IIS, Jira Servers.
  • Jira Integration development experience.
