Shift: 3rd Shift, Sun-Thurs 9:30 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Compensation: $31.78/hour (29.03+.75 lead pay+$2.00 shift differential/hour)

A Brief Summary of This Position

The primary responsibility of the Inside Shipping Lead is to accurately pick, count, and pack parts for shipment to our customers. Responsibilities include operating a variety of material handling and packaging equipment in a safe and efficient manner. The Inside Shipping Lead is also expected to maintain appropriate housekeeping and safety standards.

This position leads by example, serving as a key contributor to the Inside Shipping team's success by guiding and mentoring a team inside shipping staff. This position takes on significant responsibility for daily departmental operations while assisting with task assignments and fostering the development of team members. This role is instrumental in driving the department's progression and achieving its goals.

Essential Functions

  • Responds in a positive fashion to the direction of a shift supervisor, participating in departmental/cell team functions
  • Accurately picks, counts and packs parts for shipment
  • Operates the following equipment in a safe and efficient manner: forklift, order picker, hand and air driven banding and crimping tools, lift tables, small hand tools, vacu-lifts, weigh scales, air driven staple/nail guns, hand-held barcode scanners, computers, storage carousels, skin wrap machine, and/or cable wrapping machines
  • Understand documents pertaining to packing and shipping of irrigation products
  • Demonstrates computer proficiency with QAD
  • Maintains housekeeping and 5S standards
  • Contributes to a positive safety culture
  • Demonstrates effective and proper communication skills, open to change, and encourages change with the team
  • Responsible for safety, productivity, quality, and personal behavior driving improvement results for inside shipping.
  • Recognize major parts to sight (most crate line and high volume parts)
  • Adheres to departmental established goals for on-time delivery
  • Actively problem-solves and presents solutions
  • Lead others by example
  • Provides feedback to others to improve performance
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications of Every Candidate (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)

  • The ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, read, write, and count accurately
  • A working knowledge of computer to include using e-mail, TEAMS, QAD, spreadsheets
  • The ability to work with wood and small hand tools such as tape measures, scales, banders, and air-driven staplers
  • The ability to stand, bend, push, pull, climb, lift and walk repeatedly throughout the shift
  • The ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly throughout the shift
  • The ability to operate forklifts, , or weigh counting scales
  • Satisfactory safety record and the awareness of others safety as well as their own
  • Material handling and inventory experience
  • Acceptable work history and attendance record
