A Brief Summary of This Position:
The main function of the IT Business Analyst position will be to optimize, standardize and leverage the functionality of the ITSM Ticketing System platform and various Business Systems and integrate into the business process to achieve improved efficiency for all stakeholders. Key activities will include estimation of effort, identification, analysis and and documentation of requirements, development and execution of testing plans, preparing training documentation and supporting end user training activities. The incumbent will also actively participate in all aspects of the SDLC process and recommend opportunities for improvement within IT processes. This position will collaborate across the Global IT organization as needed.
The IT Business Analyst will be assigned scope in one of the following application scope areas: ERP, CRM, HR/FIN, IT, PLM, Production Support, RPA, ITSM, TMS. For this role, the IT Business Analyst will primarily focus on ITSM. Others may be added as a need arises.

Essential Functions:
- This position reports to the Senior Manager Global Operations Technology and has no direct or indirect reports.
- This role requires up to 10% travel (internationally/domestically), including overnight stays.
- Flexible schedule, with the expectation to have the ability to report into the office as needed; a working schedule that provides some overlap with core US-based team hours between 7 am and 5 pm CST is needed.
- Provide leadership in utilization of Information Technology within Valmont to become a trusted advisor to the organization.
- Continuously monitor industry trends, standards, and technologies with the goal of recommending and applying new technologies as they emerge.
- Follow company policies, procedures, and best practices to protect company data and ensure compliance.
- Participate in the development of high-level estimations of effort/cost associated with application projects and enhancements.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify, analyze, and document functional business requirements for application projects and enhancements.
- Develop and validate testing plans and conduct functional user testing to ensure delivered solutions meet functional business requirements.
- Coordinate user acceptance testing with business stakeholders.
- Prepare documentation and conduct training of end users/stakeholders.
- Participate in cross functional projects with complex and challenging business problems that can have a broad organizational impact and provide opportunities for significant competitive advantage.
- Partner across tech and engineering teams on architecture, design, and problem solving that ensures not only successful product delivery, but operational excellence in production.
- Perform support activities based on escalation from the support team.
- Write supporting documentation for the software, such as release notes, help documentation, articles, and features.
- Actively engage in all aspects of the SDLC process.
- Actively participate in architecture strategy for complex projects associated to the ITSM Ticketing System that cut across multiple teams, technologies, and geographies.
- Make recommendations for process improvements within both the business and IT organization.
Required Qualifications of Every Candidate:
- Preferred Bachelors with 5+ years relevant experience or Associates Degree with 7+ years relevant experience or 9+ years of relevant experience.
- Experience configuring and maintaining ITSM solutions based on IT and business needs.
- Understanding of overall enterprise business systems architecture, functionality, and usage.
- Understanding of project management principles and practices.
- Ability to conduct research into enterprise business systems application functionality and products to deploy as required.
- Understanding of manufacturing principles, practices, and procedures.
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office suite products.
- Ability to communicate (written and verbal) in English.
- Proven analytical and evaluative abilities.
- High level of initiative and self-motivation.
- Demonstrated effectiveness in problem solving situations, good planning, and organizational skills.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
Highly Qualified Candidates Will Also Possess These Qualifications:
- Experience working in a team-oriented and collaborative environment.
- Experience with ITSM software such as Service Desk+, IFS Assyst, Service Now.
- ITIL Certification.
- ITSM Ticketing System experience with ITSM, ITBM, ITOM, CMDB, GRC, and SAM.
- Mastery in creating custom workflows, post functions, and validators, make changes to workflows, screens, fields, and reporting.
- Experience working with tools such as Azure Dev Ops or JIRA.
- Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language.
- Ability to perform general mathematical calculations for the purpose of creating business cases.
- Experience in synthesizing and simplifying complex product and business objectives into architecture and system design.
- Keen attention to detail.
- Exceptional customer service orientation.
