Shift Available - 1st Shift - 6:00 am-3:00 pm
Compensation - $25.90 per hour
A Brief Summary of This Position
The Material Control Specialist B performs and oversees the receiving of raw material and purchased parts through established procedures from service providers and coordinates through Quality Assurance for non-conforming materials. This position performs various inspections of materials and equipment. This position uses the computer for finding part number locations and quantity for issuing activities. Audits are also performed as needed comparing tags and records with actual material.

Educational Background
Job Training Skill Development
This job calls for the employee to have good attention to detail and accuracy when it comes to inventory control. Forklift operation is learned on the job. Requires knowledge of computer use and computer support systems. Proficient in the operation, limitation, and care required relating to all material control equipment. Familiarity with miscellaneous related data-processing systems, procedures and resulting print outs and their uses and implementation. Must possess a working knowledge of C-TPAT (Customs-Trade Partnership against Terrorism). Must be capable of verifying and confirming container numbers and seal numbers to ensure they match shipping papers, dates, purchase orders and descriptions of all incoming overseas containers. The Material Control Specialist B will need to be able to satisfactorily perform all functions of this position within 90 days of starting this position. Operators with previous forklift experience may develop the necessary skills in less than 90 days.
Decision Making
This job requires the employee to make decisions that affect the quality of the products they are manipulating. Reviews space allocations and material flow to maximize utilization of space available. Able to apply creativity to solving the problems encountered within the scope of his/her activity. Ability to understand the logic and importance of controlled movement of materials. Must have knowledge when parts or material are suspect of being unacceptable and then getting Purchasing and Quality Assurance involved to ascertain whether the material is acceptable per specifications. Must have a good understanding of their own abilities and knowledge to determine when to seek help making decisions.
Physical Effort
Without the help of the forklift, the Material Control Specialist may have to lift, push and carry material but this represents less than 10% of the shift. Stooping, bending and squatting are required for most physical lifting, pushing and pulling. The Material Control Specialist may be required to push, pull or lift up to 50lbs., but most of the physical lifting and moving is completed with the use of the forklift. The employee must be able to move about the warehouse or yard area with and without the forklift (close to 10% of the movements on the shift needs to be done without the use of the forklift). The rest of the shift is spent working in a sitting position from inside of a forklift.
