A Brief Summary of This Position:
The Project Line Manager is responsible for the execution of the business goals through the creation and maintenance of the product strategy as well as the management of the channel to market, product life cycle, R&D, testing, inventory, forecasting, marketing, product brand, and the profitability of the product line. Managing a vision for growth and profitability of the product line will require combining the Carrier RF landscape with the feedback from sales, business development, operations, and external market resources.
In this role, the Project Line Manager’s primary responsibilities are to manage product development, including measurements that determine product demand, positioning, and profitability. This position serves as a strategic member of the Telecom senior staff. Specific duties will include business case justification, market modeling, pricing policy recommendations, competitive analysis, capability analysis, market position analysis, and market intelligence for the new product development team. The Project Line Manager will be a steward for the associated product line throughout North America.
Essential Functions:
This position reports to the Senior Director Telecom Components.
For candidates based in Colorado Springs 20% travel, including overnight stays is required.
Establishes the product plan/strategy and roadmap supporting the divisional strategy.
Manage the Telecom product line ensuring that critical tasks are given priority.
Establishes the product plan/strategy and roadmap supporting the divisional strategy.
Identify the business and operational requirements based on customer needs and market feedback.
Develops the new product introduction plan based on the voice of the customer input and market research.
Analyze the customer details and market potential to provide product forecast guidance.
Responsible for achieving product-segment target results including revenue, profitability, and market share.
Analyze the competitive landscape determine market capacity and guide margins and lead times
Provide margin and lead time guidance to the Project Administration team.
Required Qualifications of Every Candidate (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):
Bachelor’s with 10+ years of relevant experience or Associate's Degree with 12+ years of relevant experience or 15+ years of relevant experience.
Prior Business Line Management experience with a track record of consistent and exemplary achievement.
Demonstrated mathematical aptitude, exceptional financial acumen.
Decisive problem-solving ability and capability to assess people and situations with accuracy.
Highly motivated, competitive, and entrepreneurial individual with a desire to tackle challenging opportunities.
Must be able to effectively and persuasively present complex information in a simple way to executive-level audiences.
Highly Qualified Candidates Will Also Possess These Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Business or Engineering.
Telecom Industry Experience.
The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in Colorado is $128,200 - $200,400. Please note that this salary information is a general guideline only. Valmont Industries considers factors such as the scope of responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, and market and business considerations when extending an offer. The position will be posted until filled.
Working Environment and Physical Efforts:
Work is typically performed in an office setting. The incumbent is regularly required to sit for extended periods, as well as talk and listen on the phone and in personal conversations or meetings. The environment is fast paced and demanding most of the time. We do require 20% travel for this position. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms while working in the office with various files and forms and while working on the computer. The employee is occasionally required to move about the office. Incumbent must utilize proper ergonomic safeguards such as monitor height and positions, keyboard location and height and proper wrist rests. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds in working with large files, binders, and computer equipment. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
