How you will contribute

Valmont is currently seeking a highly motivated and talented individual for the Painter position in the Composite department. We are looking for a highly driven individual that will maintain and operate the manual paint booth and paint mix area in a safe and efficient manner.  Additionally, but not limited to, you will…

• Maintain all paint / fluid components and hardware
• Maintain all associated paints, pigments, etc. in the paint mix area
• Ensure proper settings and paint pot readiness prior to painting and maintain settings over the course of the shift
• Clean, check and record all parts prior to painting
• Ensure all daily and weekly paperwork is completed and submitted
• Keep containers containing chemicals labeled and covered at all times in accordance with EPA and fire prevention standards
• Regularly inspect parts for quality at prescribed intervals per written and verbal guidelines
• Troubleshoot and correct various operational and quality problems
• Detect and report defective material, improper equipment operation and unusual conditions to supervisor
• Maintain work area and equipment in a clean, safe, orderly condition and meets all DHEC and OSHA requirements
• Follow all standard and/or prescribed safety regulations
• Follow all standard operating procedures

What it takes

Required Qualifications

• Proficient with the use of hand tools for daily general maintenance of paint equipment
• Ability to read and follow written and oral directions
• Ability to understand order prints and follow production schedule
• Maintain supplies needed on a weekly basis
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time, use hand and arms to reach, push, pull, stoop, kneel and lift up to 75 lbs. with assistance
• Work with and around chemicals/solvents and work in hot and cold environments.

Highly qualified candidates will also possess:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Ability to utilize proper decision making techniques
• Painter experience a plus
• Must be a person of passion and integrity who has the drive to excel and deliver exceptional results
