A Brief Summary of This Position:

The Scheduler has the ability to accurately schedule all finished goods and components through all phases of the Bartow manufacturing areas.  The incumbent is also responsible to farm out and coordinate outside vendors to accomplish needed capacity requirement. This function must be performed in a manner that balances and compliments the business objectives and resources. The results of this position directly effects on-time shipments, inventory levels, and production levels.

Essential Function:

  • Schedules customer orders through the manufacturing areas relying on data from Operations, Engineering, and Manufacturing departments.
  • The incumbent must be able to recognize specific priorities in their workload.  Some tasks require immediate actions be taken and appropriate personnel contacted.
  • This position must establish and maintain a close working relationship with Manufacturing, Engineering, Material Handling, Project Managers, Vendors, and off-site locations.  This relationship must be maintained in a professional and flexible manner due to the continuously changing Marketing and Manufacturing environment
  • The incumbent must possess a thorough knowledge and understanding of accepted production and inventory techniques. 
  • Enter job info and pole details into scheduler.
  • Schedule poles to meet revenue and customer due date while taking into account plant capacity.
  • Distribute weekly and daily schedules and needed drawings to each department.
  • Make adjustments as needed to changes that become priority.
  • Maintain filed jobs.
  • Create schedule reports to keep track of schedule changes impact on revenue for GM and Plant Manager.
  • Reschedule rejected poles as needed.
  • Work with Cosmetics to enter pole weights and yard location of poles.
  • Work with internal departments and customers to schedule based off of company and customer needs.
  • Create report for FP&L to show various job progress.
  • Log progress in progress tracker.
  • Order flange plates for poles as soon as drawings are ready.
  • Follow the instructions of superiors and management.
  • Maintaining order in your workplace

Other Important Details about the Role:

  • This position reports to the Materials Manager and has no direct reports or indirect reports.
  • Must have a high awareness for the safety of other employees and machines used in the production area
  • Ability to understand and follow both written and verbal instructions
  • Participate in LEAN and 5S projects, as well as keep immediate production area clean
  • The ability to communicate and interact with coworkers in a professional manner
  • The ability to pay attention to detail and follow work instructions
  • The ability to work overtime as needed
  • The ability to work in extreme temperatures as needed.
  • The ability to recognize and solve practical problems.

Required Qualifications of Every Candidate (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):

  • HS Diploma or GED Equivalency and 2+ years of work/education experience or associate degree.
  • Basic knowledge of the manufacturing process
  • Ability to demonstrate a strong understanding of computer processes including Excell and MRP Systems.
  • Current medical examination.
  • Basic blueprint reading is required.

Highly Qualified Candidates Will Also Posses These Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • 5+ years of scheduling in a manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated Project Management experience.

Work Environment and Physical Efforts:

  • Mostly office setting mainly using a computer.
  • Occasionally work on the production floor, mainly standing and walking position.
