Essential Functions
• Test, inspect, schedule, repair, troubleshoot, and reassemble basic plant equipment, components, and systems, including but not limited to pneumatic and mechanical systems, oven and boiler systems, and electrical and hydraulic systems.
• Install and align all new equipment.
• Perform basic electrical work and assist in highly skilled electrical work.
• Responsible for working with small hand tools, including tape measures, saws, drills, and maintaining tools and equipment.
• Inspects and maintains all safety equipment and complies with company safety policies.
• Participates in Continuous Improvement projects and tasks.
• Actively listens and understands assigned tasks and communicates issues or concerns to supervisor and/or peers.
• Ability to dismantle machines, replace defective parts, and make necessary adjustments.
• Must be able to pass the company on-site forklift test.
Other Important Details about the Role
• This position reports to the Maintenance Supervisor and has no direct reports.
• The position is for 1st shift, Monday through Friday, with periodic overtime.
• Starting pay range is $30.00 - $34.50 and will be determined based on experience, skill set, and qualification match.
• Communicate with other maintenance and production team members.
• Minor metal fabrication using welding and cutting tools.
• Boiler License is a plus.
• Have efficient skills in carpentry, electrical, and plumbing.
• Performs basic repairs to building HVAC and paint booth ventilation systems.
• Inspects and maintains the parking lot, including some snow removal
• Performs preventative maintenance and basic repairs of forklifts.
• Assist in general plant clean-up and housekeeping.
• Knowledge of proper safety regarding hazardous waste handling.
Required Qualifications of Every Candidate (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
• High school diploma or GED
• Three to five years of related experience
• The ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions in English.
• Proficient with Microsoft, Excel, and Outlook.
• Complex problem solving and critical thinking skills.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
Highly Qualified Candidates Will Also Possess These Qualifications
• The ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.
• The ability to interpret and fabricate components based on basic blueprints or specification sheets.
• One year minimum experience with basic welding/fabricating.
• Strong leadership skills and the ability to support divisional business objectives

Working Environment and Physical Efforts:
The working conditions for this position are in a manufacturing shop environment with exposure to dirt, grease, fumes, cold, heat, noise, and dust. The environment is fast-paced and demanding most of the time. Incumbents must utilize proper ergonomic and safety safeguards, such as hearing protection and safety glasses. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Able to stand, walk, sit, bend, squat, stoop, push, pull, reach, grasp, hold, and carry for various periods of time. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
