How you will contribute

Valmont is currently seeking a highly motivated and talented individual for the Maintainer A position in the Coatings Division. We are looking for a highly driven individual that will be responsible for performing maintenance and repairs on all plant equipment and facilities. The Maintainer A will responsible for testing, disassembly, inspecting, precise measuring, repair and re-assembly of plant equipment or components, including bridge cranes, hoists, gear boxes, forklifts, straddle truck, shag trucks, company vehicles and industrial furnace systems.


Additionally, you will...

•Be responsible for general plant clean up and housekeeping

•Work safely with the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

•Perform electrical work

•Fabricate fixtures

•Read and interpret blueprints to complete assigned tasks and repairs

•Record labor and material used on each repair

•Communicate with other maintenance and production team members via e-mail, phone, and face-to-face

•Operate a forklift as needed in work area. Must be company tested and authorized

•Move parts and materials around the facility weighing up to 50 pounds by hand

•Operator gauging equipment including tape measures, micrometers and dial calipers

 

Required Qualifications

•The ability to communicate problems or needs to departmental supervision

•Have a high awareness for safety

•The ability to work 1-2 shifts of overtime per week

•Possess a High School Diploma or GED equivalent

•The ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions in English

•A working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook

•The ability to interpret pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical and mechanical systems

•The ability to climb and work from ladders, man lifts, bridge cranes and roofs in excess of 80 feet

•Must be a person of passion and integrity who has the drive to excel and deliver exceptional results


Highly qualified candidates will also possess:

•An Associate’s or Technical degree in Industrial Maintenance or a related field

•Six months of experience operating a forklift in a professional environment

•Six months of experience welding/fabricating metal structures/components in a professional environment

•Six months of experience operating hand/power tools
