How you will contribute

Valmont is currently seeking a highly motivated and talented individual for the Shipping Lead position at the Farmington Facility.  We are looking for a highly driven individual that will oversee the production and shipping functions. Additionally, you will…

  • Direct all work priority for manufacturing processes and coordinate shipping activities
  • Plan for the efficient production and shipment of finished product in the most efficient manner
  • Utilize human resources to accomplish required production and shipping activities in an effective manner
  • Actively promote Valmont Safety and Lean programs
  • Effectively train, lead and motivate staff in a positive and constructive manner
  • Ensure accountability of all staff to key deliverables including quality of work, quantity of work, attendance, safety, teamwork, etc.

What it takes

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 1 year experience in a supervisory role in a manufacturing environment
  • Valid Driver’s License and safe driving record
  • A strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Outlook Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills

Working Environment/Physical Efforts

  • Stooping: Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist.
  • Crouching: Bending the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine.
  • Reaching: Extending hands(s) and arms(s) in any direction.
  • Standing: Particularly for sustained periods of time.
  • Lifting: Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position-to-position. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Able to use hand tools, including files, hammers, snips; power tools such as sanders, drills, riveters, and grinders.
  • Proficiency in working with hand tools and common metal shop tasks

Highly qualified candidates will also possess:

  • Previous experience in Lean Manufacturing
  • Previous experience in a metal fabrication environment
  • Must be a person of passion and integrity who has the drive to excel and deliver exceptional results
