How you will contribute


Valmont is currently seeking a highly motivated and talented individual for an Mechanical Engineer position for our Valmont Torrent Engineering Business.  Torrent Engineering is a Northern Indiana manufacturer of custom water pumping systems.  We are looking for a highly driven individual that will work on design, development and manufacturing support of automated motor control systems for large water pumping equipment utilized in industrial and commercial water supply systems. 

Additionally, you will assist with . . .

-          Design of prefabricated pump stations and pumping systems utilizing centrifugal type vertical turbine and horizontal multistage type pumps and associated equipment

-          Design of pressurized piping systems

-          Process system design, project cost estimating, engineering supervision, and customer site visits

-          Engineering review, standards, and production support

-          Technical sales and marketing support


What it takes


Required Qualifications

-          Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering (ME, MET) or equivalent

-          Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD Mechanical or Inventor

-          Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Products including; Excel, Word and Outlook

-          Demonstrated strengths in interpersonal skills, including the ability to professionally communicate with a variety of people in a positive manner to build and cultivate lasting business relationships

-          The ability to occasionally travel domestically and/or globally
